MovingIMAGE24’s VideoManager 6 is now closing this marketing gap, making it possible to incorporate pre-, mid- and post-rolls into videos on the iPad and iPhone for the first time.
Video advertising is most readily accepted when featured on mobile devices. 94 per cent of tablet and smartphone users watch videos in their entirety, according to a study conducted by Adobe. Until now, however, the market of iPad and iPhone users remained untapped, as these devices would only play video ads in separate apps. Video ads incorporated into a website were not played by the browser on the Apple devices due to technical obstacles that block their transmission.
Automatic recognition of Apple devices
VideoManager 6 is now making it possible for videos to also be monetised on Apple’s devices with HTML5 technology. The cloud solution automatically recognises the device being used and delivers video ads in the right format within the video stream in real time. In the case of the iPad and iPhone, this is in the HTML5 player.
New marketing opportunities for publishers
“For a long time, iOS devices were an ad-free zone when it came to videos. With VideoManager 6, valuable video content can now also be easily marketed via Apple devices, which are very widely used. Publishers can therefore now get even more revenue out of their videos,” says Dr Rainer Zugehör, Managing Director of MovingIMAGE24.

closewho attended Internet World on 27 and 28 March 2012. Fitting in perfectly with the e-commerce fair, MovingIMAGE24 showcased its cloud solution VideoManager 6, which allows retailers to make conventional online shopping and mobile Web-based shopping as much of an experience as possible for as high a conversion rate as possible. VideoManager 6 makes it possible to easily and professionally manage, host and stream videos, without a company having to invest in their own hardware or software.
“Smartphones are a highly promising e-commerce sales channel, but they present webshops with a technological challenge, namely converting videos into numerous formats and making them compatible with various bandwidths. Our VideoManager 6 solution see to this automatically, resulting in videos that are displayed in top quality on all possible terminal devices,” says Tim Schwenke, Managing Director of MovingIMAGE24. VideoManager 6 automatically turns all the uploaded videos into the relevant video formats for perfect playback on all possible terminal devices, including and above all smartphones. In addition, ads that appeal to and win over mobile users can be easily incorporated into attractive videos. This gives webshop operators complete control of the video advertising featured on their websites. The VideoManager 6 solution is cloud-based and therefore offers unlimited capacities and uninterrupted streaming. It also features various options for distributing video content, in particular by means of the social media channels. Popular videos can therefore be spread within the target group by means of a single mouse click.
Some of the other features of VideoManager 6 include drag-and-drop video publishing, optimised user management and generally intuitive and user-friendly operation. VideoManager 6 has statistics functions to display the precise number of views, the exit time and the use time of each individual video. Webshop operators are therefore equipped with an analysis tool that they can use to optimise their video strategy.
Videos were the hot topic at Internet World 2012 and the presentations given by MovingIMAGE24’s two managing directors were met with a great deal of interest. During the Streaming Video Summit, Dr Rainer Zugehör gave a speech on “Video management 2012: trends, tools, targets”, in particular looking at the pitfalls of YouTube for companies. Meanwhile in another presentation, Tim Schwenke talked about “Success factors for the implementation of videos in e-commerce”, looking at how videos can actively contribute to an increase in e-commerce sales.

closewill benefit from an array of improvements and new features, such as drag-and-drop video publishing, video ad generation and management, optimised user management and generally more intuitive operation.
In contrast to YouTube, VideoManager gives businesses, publishing companies and agencies a platform which is designed with the needs of professional users in mind. With a single mouse click, videos can be converted into all possible formats, including full HD and HDV2 (1080i), can be made available to download and can be accurately spread online via mobile end devices or an intranet, as well as via video portals and social media portals. What’s more, the author holds on to the rights to their video, in comparison to private video portals where these rights generally have to be relinquished.
VideoManager 6 heralds the arrival of improved user management, the likes of which is not possible with, for example, YouTube. Users can be assigned roles such as ‘producer’ and ‘editor’, which automatically come with a set of predetermined rights. This facilitates workflows and reduces the administrator’s workload. The publishing procedure has been simplified too: simply drag and drop a video onto a specific channel in your media library and it will already be online. With the cloud solution, you can create and manage your own video ads, allowing you to generate revenue with your videos. The opening page of VideoManager 6, the ‘dashboard’, has also changed. It now features the latest news, access to all the video management applications and details of how to contact contractual partners and support staff. In addition, new icons and other design elements make its operation even easier.
“We have created the best video cloud solution there has ever been,” says Dr Rainer Zugehör, Managing Director of MovingIMAGE24. “Anyone looking to professionally make videos available, be they a business, an agency or a publishing company, will find VideoManager 6 to be a highly modern, high-performance video CMS. Now all it takes is just a few mouse clicks for absolutely anyone to intuitively make the most of the advantages of video streaming for their business purposes.”
MovingIMAGE24 can be found at stand G26 in hall 6 at CeBIT from 6 to 10 March 2012, as the technology partner of e-Spirit. In addition, on Wednesday, 7 March, MovingIMAGE24’s Managing Director Dr Rainer Zugehör will give a presentation entitled “Trends in professional video communication – and why YouTube isn’t a solution” (hall 6, stand F40 at 15:30), which will look at current and future requirements for successful online video communication.

closeemployees is even expected to increase threefold by 2015. It has therefore developed a recruitment film with a view to bringing the company to the attention of potential job applicants: MovingIMAGE24 recruitment film .
Made in the style of a cinema trailer, the film presents the MovingIMAGE24 employees and management figures in their new premises. All of the members of staff are immortalised on film by means of fast editing cuts. The internal production team took three days to shoot the film, which was shot in high-definition resolution. The production involved the use of a stop-motion dolly, which makes it possible to combine continuous camera movements with a time lapse look. The colour green, which has been a part of MovingIMAGE24’s corporate identity since the company was founded in 2005, appears again and again throughout the film.
“I am highly satisfied with the outcome of the production, as are all of our employees, who are proudly spreading it through their social networks. Which is exactly what we wanted them to do,” says Managing Director Dr Rainer Zugehör, who is optimistic about the future: “The topic of videos on the Internet is developing at great speed. We have been active in this field right from the start and therefore have a wealth of expertise within our team. We now need to ramp up our capacities and further consolidate our position in the video streaming market.”

closedeveloped by MovingIMAGE24. The website also features interactive information on the products presented in the Web videos, make-up tips via Web TV and links to a shopping basket. All of these elements are handled using the video management tool VideoManager 5 to actively promote the company’s online sales.
As Douglas produces its Web TV itself, a solution was needed which would convert the various moving image formats as conveniently as possible to make them Internet-compatible, be it a product clip, a how-to video or a short product snippet. Service providers and agencies also provide Douglas with video ads, which are likewise incorporated into the online programme. VideoManager simplifies the company’s workflows thanks to its reliable and straightforward handling of everything from converting videos to editing them and embedding them.
Douglas was also won over by the mobile accessibility to its target groups using smartphones and tablet PCs offered by VideoManager via HTML5, as well as the Google site map for videos for the purposes of search engine optimisation (SEO). This entails VideoManager 5 automatically Google-indexing videos, not only making it easier for Google and other search engines to pinpoint videos on the basis of specific search terms, but also reducing the workload of the online editors.
“Videos and moving image clips are becoming more and more important, especially in the area of e-commerce. Retailers can use them to give their customers a better online experience and therefore increase their conversion rate,” says Dr Rainer Zugehör of MovingIMAGE24. “We are therefore delighted to now count Douglas, which is a big player in the e-commerce segment, as one of our clients,” adds Zugehör.

With VideoManager 5, MovingIMAGE24 was able to come out on top against numerous competitors and was singled out as a nominee at the IT-Profits evening event together with the winners TecArt with their entry, a CRM solution.
